Crostini Garlic Toasts

Ingredients

  • One 18-inch long narrow Italian or French bread
  • 1 or 2 large cloves of garlic, peeled
  • olive oil as needed

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to broil.  Slice the bread into ½-inch thick pieces. Place them on a baking sheet.
  • Broil the bread for 1 – 2 minutes until lightly browned. Turn each piece over and broil on the other side for another minute or two.
  • Rub the garlic clove over one side of each slice of toasted bread. Brush with olive oil. 
  • Use at room temperature or reheated for canapes.
